About Glenn Jochum
Jochum is a concert mainstay on the East End of Long Island, New York, and has been playing for more than three decades at local vineyards, street fairs, restaurants, cafes, and libraries.
Glenn has also entertained passengers on a number of cruises to benefit the environment, thereby sharing his message and leaving his mark as a musician committed to preserving the last of Long Island's open spaces. His first CD, released in 1999, On The Beach, garnered rave reviews from Newsday, Good Times, and The Long Island Ear, and received airplay on NPR Radio. Jochum followed that up with Nasty Weather in 2003, a 15-song collection of songs that in spite of its brooding overtones, retained the optimism and belief in the ability of the human spirit to heal.
It contains the Great American Song Contest Honor Award winner “Meadow of Light.”
My Vacation, released in 2006, was a semi-concept CD featuring a lighter thematic collection of songs based on travel that drew comparisons to Jimmy Buffett. It received repeated airplay on WEHM.
Glenn's 2009 CD, Shelter Me, is a collaboration with his sister Beth Jochum, friends Brenda Fisher and Jude Klucitas, and Stony Brook University alumnus Gabe Shuford, and features ballads, R & B, and classic folk-rock with a socially activist theme that mirrors the times.
